I feel like "incident" is not the best metric for tracking safety. I'm also unclear on how fair it is to compare Waymo/Robotaxi (predominantly city miles) to human drivers (predominantly freeway miles) as far as incidents per mile are concerned.

I'd be interested in seeing something like "at-fault injuries per mile" although understandably it would be very noisy for Robotaxi, given the low volume. For Waymo, my impression is that there still hasn't been a fatal accident caused by Waymo? It seems quite unlikely to me that in a "true" sense, Waymo is less safe than a human driver at this point.
